How my journey began
From earliest memory I’ve been loquacious. Family members fondly recount an overnight road trip from Mexico City to Tlaxcala, my assignment was to engage my designated driver uncle in wakeful conversation. Andres had no chance, annoyed and perhaps a bit bemused, yet midday alert.
Born in Mexico and reunited with my mother who had relocated to the Lone Star State, I became accustomed to American life and language. Mother recalls my childhood observation, “Yo soy bien paticona!” i.e., “I’m a chatterbox”. Educated in the United States from kindergarten through ninth grade. I, returned to Mexico at fourteen years of age, the following six years residing in Mexico, then alternating my residence between North Texas and Tlaxcala. Those six years in Mexico provided the invaluable opportunity to engage individuals from all walks of life, and I was a voracious consumer of their language, ideas, opinions, and culture. Such resulted in an invitation to teach English as a second language in Tlaxcala, affording the opportunity to study more advanced linguistic methodology while preparing college applicants and students to pass the TOEFL exam. My students included Mexican executives and politicians desiring to improve their vocabulary and pronunciation. More recently as a Texas resident my transition to professional interpretation and translation led to Certification as a Medical Interpreter by the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters and employment as a multidisciplinary interpreter at Children’s Health Medical Center Dallas and with an outpatient private clinic. I have also assisted with translation and bilingual interpretation for Dallas law firms, a pathway to graduation from the University of Texas’ Center for Professional Education legal interpreter course and licensure by the Texas Judicial Branch Certification Commission as a Spanish – English judicial interpreter. This dual licensure combined with my extensive practical experience uniquely qualifies me to provide the most accurate interpretation and translation as is critical in legal discovery and courtroom procedures.
I look forward to assisting you with your interpretation and translation services for client and witness interviews, depositions, court appearances, hearings, and document translation.
